NMC REVALIDATION REQUIREMENTS
Understanding Your NMC Revalidation Requirements
Revalidation is designed to help you demonstrate that you remain up to date and fit to practise throughout your nursing or midwifery career. These requirements bring together your professional practice, continuing development, feedback and reflection.
Complete the required practice hours during your three-year registration period. Different requirements may apply if you are renewing more than one registration.
Complete 35 hours of continuing professional development relevant to your scope of practice, including at least 20 hours of participatory learning.
Collect five pieces of feedback about your professional practice. Feedback can help you recognise strengths, identify areas for development and reflect on the care you provide.
Complete five written reflective accounts relating to your CPD, practice-related feedback or an event or experience in professional practice, and consider how these relate to the NMC Code.
Discuss your five written reflective accounts with another NMC registrant as part of your revalidation.
Declare that you meet the NMC's health and character requirements.
Declare that you have, or will have when practising, appropriate professional indemnity arrangements.
An appropriate confirmer must confirm that you have demonstrated that you have met the revalidation requirements.
